Colony on Mars

Apparently, there aren't too many photos of future colonies on Mars. Maybe the subject isn't overdone after all.

When I typed in "colony on mars" to find an image to pair with today's blog, the above photo was my best option. There were no images of Mars. The closest thing to a colony I found was a photo of three penguins. Apparently, three of anything is called a colony. I remember reading somewhere that if you can't find something online, it doesn't exist. Why is no one preparing the way for the colonization of Mars?

I should think they could send drones and robots to Mars to build structures for future habitation. Isn't that our best bet for continuing the human species? We are doomed here on Earth, and it's too late to change our habits. We will soon (within fifty years or so) turn the atmosphere into a pressure cooker and melt the polar ice caps! That's the storyline. Why are images of Mars and its colonies as scarce as bitcoin deposits then?

Humans don't prepare for contingencies well at all. We're good at surveying situations and making dire predictions though. That's something we do all the time. Scientists do it. The tabloids are full of them. And yet I can only find brownies with licorice kisses when I search for images of colonies on Mars. This makes sense in a way. Food is another thing we obsess about. There are 26,319 recipes for lemon snaps online but not one damned image of a Mars installation!

Of course, this is total bullshit. There are plenty of Mars colony images online. I would love to show one to you and do a real blog about colonies on Mars. However, these images are all copyrighted up the ying yang. No thanks. I have no desire to defend my humble domicile and my loved ones from the copyright SWAT team. No, no. Don't think so. So, although my blog for today had aspirations of a high-quality, intelligent summary of our quest to build colonies on Mars, this is the sad result. Sorry. Please help yourself to a brownie.
