About me:

I simply love a good story as most of you do. Creating one isn’t an easy task, but I love the pursuit. My hardest job, I’ve found, is allowing myself control of the project—complete control. Naysayers creep into my head and constantly attempt to take over. They are not good storytellers, they are good managers. They manage so well that I let them steer me into a safe direction, away from the swells and eddies. My prime task?  Say no to the managers, take risks and plunge ahead instead of managing word counts and grammar and the ruts of popular fiction.

I’ve always wanted to write and did from time to time. But I never had the dedication to block everything out and make time for it. I do regret that decision. I would be a much better writer now had I devoted myself to writing earlier. Raising three kids and teaching for thirty years took up a large portion of my time, but I cant use that as an excuse.

My advice to anyone who wants to write is do an inventory of your life. See what’s taking up most of your time. You may be surprised that you can work full time, devote a good chunk of time to your family (never skimp there) and still find time to write. You won’t regret it.

Write without fear.

Edit without mercy.
